Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Tuesday January 2, 2017 Deputy John Adams of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit received a tip from the United States Marshal Service about one of Iredell County’s Most Wanted Persons, was at a location off Bethlehem Road in Western Iredell County.
Deputy Adams, assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team, apprehended Joseph Hal Shew in a vehicle traveling on Old Mountain Road.
Joseph Hal Shew was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center on January 2, 2018, where he was charged with Felony Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of an Address Change and was placed under a 50,000.00 dollar secured bond.
Joseph Shew is on the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry due to a 2013 conviction of two Felony Counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor. He was placed on the Sex Offender Registry in 2016.
Joseph Hal Shew was listed as one of Iredell County’s most wanted based on a warrant for Failing to Notify the Sheriff’s Office of his new address.
Joseph Hal Shew has a criminal history which includes: Misdemeanor Larceny, two counts of Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, and Carrying Concealed Weapon.
