Suspect charged with Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury

On Sunday, December 23, 2018 deputies responded to 141 Tarrington Drive, Statesville, in reference to a domestic assault between a male and female at this residence. 

When deputies arrived they discovered Kimberly Michelle Hobbs had stabbed the male subject in the stomach with a knife after a verbal argument. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.  The argument and the assault occurred in front of a minor child who resided at the residence as well. 

Kimberly Michelle Hobbs was taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was charged with one count of Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and one count of Misdemeanor Assault in the Presence of a Minor. 

Hobbs was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a no bond Domestic Hold at the time of her arrest by Magistrate M. Nethken.
